English Paper Piecing

English paper piecing.

English paper piecing is one of the oldest forms of patchwork. Commonly known as EPP, this form of patchwork is all sewn together by hand.

Fabric is folded over paper shapes and either temporarily glue basted or sewn is place. and these fabric covered shapes are then sewn together to create your patchwork.

EPP is perfect for beginner sewers as you don't need a lot of expensive equipment, as its all sewn by hand there is no need for a sewing machine.

English paper piecing is perfect for on the go sewing, as there is no machine to lug around, you can pop a few hexies in your bag, a needle and thread, and off you go.

EPP is one of the most addictive types of sewing you can do, perfect for slowing down, there is no rushing EPP, the hand stitching does soothe your soul, so if you are looking for something to give you peace, quiet and give you a chance to escape into your own little world of sewing, this is the hobby for you!
